Law Grad Goes Into Labor While Taking the Bar Exam, Has Her Baby and Finishes Her Test

Brianna Hill wasn’t going to let anything stand in the way of her taking the bar exam, not even giving birth. And, that is exactly what happened one week ago.

Hill, a recent Loyola University of Chicago School of Law graduate, was in active labor, contractions and all, while taking the first portion of the bar exam, she told Above The Law magazine.

“I started taking the MPT but since we were remote I couldn’t leave view of the camera. As soon as I stood up when I finished, I knew my water had broken,” she told the legal publication.

So she did what any willful, courageous, determined woman would do: she powered through it.

“I took my break, got myself cleaned up, called my husband, midwife and mom, cried because I was a little panicked, then sat down to take the MEE,” she said.

Pizza Bar restaurant opens new location in Miami Beach FL

Pizza Bar & Lalani Productions

Guess who’s coming to West Avenue?

Pizza Bar, which opened its first location next to the Loews Miami Beach and Ritz Carlton South Beach in 2009, has opened a new location, right next to Bodega Taqueria y Tequila.

The menu at the new spot, which boasts a rustic but modern vibe, isn’t exactly the same as the menu at the Collins Avenue restaurant, which says it sells the biggest slice on South Beach.

At the new restaurant, it’s not so much about the slices. You can order the 30-inch pizzas with your favorite toppings or try a special pizza like the Proscuitto, with garlic sauce, mozzarella, truffle oil, Proscuitto, arugula, grated Parmesan and basil.

GRAND BLANC, MI — For the past six years, Michele Matthews has crafted her business to simulate the same atmosphere of her home: a cozy feel with mix-and-match chairs, hearty meals and an array of alcoholic beverages.

Grafted Root Eatery in Grand Blanc is known for its locally sourced ingredients and meals from scratch.

“It’s basically home cooking,” said Matthews. “I was a stay at home wife and mom before I opened up this. So everything is basically how I cooked at home and I was raised to cook everything from scratch, not pre-processed. I try to buy as much local as I can.”

Developers of downtown Goshen bar, restaurant get OK for renovation | News

GOSHEN — Plans to convert a former downtown bar into a new restaurant took their next step Tuesday during a meeting of the Goshen Board of Zoning Appeals.

At the meeting, board members approved a request by Roger Nafziger for a variance to allow alterations to the front and rear facades of the former White Horse bar, located at 108-110 N. Main St.

According to Nafziger, he and his wife, Laurie, purchased the former bar last summer at the urging of their son, Aaron Nafziger, who is the current owner of the Constant Spring bar in downtown Goshen.

In the months following the purchase, the family has been working to renovate and convert the property into a new, family-friendly downtown restaurant that will then be managed by Aaron.

“The name of it is going to be The Table at 108. That’s what will be on the awning, and that is
