Nikon Announces Z 6II and Z 7II: Small But Meaningful Improvements

Nikon has just announced the second generation of their full-frame mirrorless bodies, updating the Z 6 and Z 7 to Z 6II and Z 7II. These feature updates improve some crucial areas of camera performance, but is it enough to keep them competitive? Check out the features that have changed and decide for yourself.

Firstly, the bodies are the same. Other than some slight differences to accommodate things like the new vertical grip (finally!), all the buttons and controls have remained in the same positions. This makes interoperability between cameras a breeze, but also reflects the very small degree of change involved in this update. With that out of the way, let’s talk about what’s actually changed.

Dual Processors

The cameras now feature dual EXPEED 6 processors. These power a number of the camera’s features, so more power is always welcome. In this case, the greater available power has allowed

Why bankers are so worried about their small business loan books

That means that 57 per cent of people whose home loan deferrals were due to expire in September – some 22,900 borrowers owing a total of $8.7 billion – felt they were now in a position to meet their loan repayments.

As a result, the Commonwealth Bank has seen a gratifying improvement in its home loan book in the past month alone.

At the end of August, 9.8 per cent of its giant home loan portfolio (measured in terms of value) consisted of loans in deferral. By the end of September, this had dropped to 8.0 per cent. (This translates into some 93,000 home loans, with a combined value of some $37 billion.)

What’s more, October is likely to see a further steep fall in deferred home loans, with deferrals due to expire on some 52,000 home loans (worth a combined $20 billion).

If more than half of home loan

Opinion | For Kids at Home, ‘a Small Intervention Makes a Big Difference’

In Botswana, on March 18, the government announced it was closing schools. Over the next 72 hours, an organization called Young 1ove (that’s “love” with a numeral 1 instead of a letter “l,” as in “one love”) that works with the Ministry of Basic Education scrambled to collect phone numbers from students in third, fourth and fifth grades all over the country. Young 1ove’s staff ended up with 7,550 phone numbers — and no plan for what to do with them.

They knew that whatever they did would use phones. The vast majority of Botswanans have no access to the internet, no computer, no smartphone. But most households do have basic mobile phones.

Kids could get classes on Botswana TV and radio while at home. But many students quickly gave them up, or never started. “They think the teachers are too fast for them,” said Marea Bathuleng, whose children are

Richfield’s Economic Development Authority Authorizes Second Round Of Coronavirus Small Business Forgivable Loans

September 30, 2020

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, 1.4 million small businesses have either closed of suspended operations according to a study by Oxxford Information Technology Ltd. It is expected that as many as four million small businesses could be forced to shut down permanently by the end of the year, or about 13 percent of the country’s small businesses.

Richfield’s Economic Development Authority (EDA) is doing everything it can to provide financial assistance to the city’s small businesses as they try and weather the global health crisis. The authority has authorized a second round of small business forgivable loans.

“Businesses of all shapes and sizes are seeing a drastic reduction in income during the COVID-19 pandemic,” explained Richfield Chamber of Commerce Chairman Greg Worthen. “Richfield was one of the first cities in Minnesota willing to help its small businesses through this crisis in the form of a

SAMUEL DOCKER

“Intimate weddings have always been chic—even before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Joy Proctor, who designed Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s intimate wedding in the South of France. And we couldn’t agree more—small weddings, no matter how petite, are weddings nonetheless; well-deserving of attention to detail, jaw-dropping fashion moments, and a stellar guest experience.

With couples postponing and rethinking their wedding plans for 2020 and 2021 with fresh priorities, safety, and national and international regulations in mind, celebrations have inherently become smaller, more intimate—and, if we’re being honest, more intentional and personal than ever before. A common misconception is that a small weddings mean less effort, curation, and elevation. Quite the contrary; a wedding is a wedding, regardless of size, scope, and location—and smaller guest counts make it possible to get even more creative.

Whether your celebration takes place in the backyard at home or far

Fitbit’s Versa 2 small improvements add up to big results

The Versa 2 is mostly a sidegrade from the Versa, but it all adds up to the best all-around fitness wearable for $180.

Fitbit’s Versa 2 isn’t a huge upgrade from the original — in many ways it’s just a modest “sidegrade” — but it still brings nothing but improvements. A year ago I called the original Versa “the best fitness tracker and wearable you can buy right now.” A lot has changed since then, including Apple’s dramatically improved Watch Series 4 and Series 5. But does The Fitbit Versa 2 still have what it takes?

I’ve spent the last two weeks with the Versa 2 and being a hardcore Fitbit fan and gym-goer I have some thoughts about it. Find out why despite its flaws as a true smartwatch, it’s still one of the best wearables for most people.

When the Fitbit Versa 2 launched, it started at $200.

Lowe’s, ‘Shark Tank’ star Daymond John launch effort for small businesses

As many small businesses face challenges during the coronavirus pandemic, Lowe’s is giving them a shot to get their products on its store shelves and website.

Lowe’s CEO Marvin Ellison said Tuesday on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” that the home improvement retailer is teaming up with Daymond John, a star of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” to mentor entrepreneurs across diverse backgrounds, listen to their pitches and narrow the pool to standouts. The initiative will ultimately culminate in a one-day pitch competition judged by Lowe’s executives and hosted by John.

“Although we’re a big company, we’re fortunate to be classified as an essential business, we understand that the success of our broader macro economy is going to be the small businesses and the ability for small businesses to continue to grow and thrive,” Ellison said. “We understand that Covid-19 has created an incredible strain on the economic viability of many of

Lowe’s offers small businesses the “Shark Tank” treatment

NEW YORK (AP) — Lowe’s is offering small businesses, particularly those owned by minorities, the “Shark Tank” treatment.

The home improvement chain is teaming up with Daymond John, star of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” to give potential suppliers the chance to pitch their products to a Fortune 500 company.

That will allow a small number of entrepreneurs to pitch their products directly to Lowe’s, sidestepping a traditionally arduous process of getting their goods sold in 2,200 stores run by the Mooresville, North Carolina company, and on lowes.com.

From Tuesday through Sept. 25 small business owners can apply. Lowe’s is putting an emphasis on businesses run by the disabled, people of color and people in the LGBT community. Candidates will be narrowed down to 75, who will then be allowed to submit more in-depth pitches via video.

Five finalists will make a live virtual pitch, hosted by John, to Lowe’s CEO Marvin
